LTD VULTURE — James Hetfield’s Signature Power and Precision
The LTD Vulture is the latest signature model from James Hetfield, frontman of Metallica and one of the most influential rhythm guitarists in metal history. This guitar captures his unmistakable style, tone, and uncompromising approach to performance.
Featuring a distinctive V-shaped mahogany body with aggressive hooks and bevels inspired by the iconic Metallica logo, the Vulture immediately stands out on stage. Its set-neck construction with a 24.75" scale length delivers thick sustain, powerful resonance, and a solid feel ideal for heavy rhythm work. The three-piece mahogany neck with a Thin U contour offers fast, controlled playability.
The Macassar ebony fingerboard is equipped with 22 extra-jumbo frets, classic dot inlays, and a custom vulture inlay at the 12th fret, emphasizing the guitar’s signature identity. A 350 mm radius ensures consistent attack and comfort across the fretboard.
At the heart of the Vulture’s sound is the EMG JH “Het Set” active pickup system, developed in close collaboration with James Hetfield.

— The JH-B bridge pickup provides the familiar tight, aggressive attack with a cleaner low end and reduced inductance.
Independent volume controls for each pickup and a three-way toggle switch allow precise tonal shaping. Professional-grade hardware includes TonePros locking TOM bridge and tailpiece, LTD locking tuners, and durable black hardware throughout.
The LTD Vulture comes complete with an ESP deluxe hardshell case, making it a stage-ready, professional instrument designed for powerful riffs and authoritative metal tone.
