Although ESP began its journey back in 1975 as a small repair shop in Tokyo, it was during the mid-1980s that the brand's guitars and basses truly captured the attention of musicians worldwide.
To honor this iconic era, the popular LTD ’87 Series has been expanded to include some of the most sought-after instruments from that period. The LTD Horizon Custom ’87 takes the stunning archtop body of the original ESP Horizon and delivers it exactly as you would have found it in the late '80s and early '90s: with a minimalistic aesthetic and pure engineering built for ultimate shredding!
Featuring a Neck Thru construction and a 25.5" scale length for massive sustain, the guitar combines a resonant alder body with an extra-thin 3-piece maple neck. The macassar ebony fingerboard comes equipped with 24 extra-jumbo frets and no face inlays, giving it a sleek look while side dot markers guide your position along the neck.
The hardware on the LTD Horizon Custom ’87 is top-tier: an original Floyd Rose 1000 tremolo system, a Seymour Duncan TB-5 Custom Trembucker in the bridge position, and a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails in the neck position. For incredible tonal versatility, push-pull coil splitting on both the volume and tone controls allows you to access crisp single-coil sounds on either or both pickups.
