The legendary Ibanez RG550 in Electric Blue (EB) has arrived in our store — one of the most iconic electric guitars ever created for rock and metal players. This model represents the classic spirit of the Ibanez RG series, which has defined high-performance guitar design since the late 1980s.

The RG series evolved from the famous Ibanez JEM platform during the golden era of virtuoso guitar playing. These instruments were designed to provide incredible speed, aggressive styling, and versatile tone. The Ibanez RG550 continues that legacy and remains one of the most recognizable guitars in the Ibanez lineup.

The body is made from Basswood, a tonewood widely appreciated for its balanced tonal characteristics. Basswood delivers smooth lows, rich midrange response, and excellent dynamics, making it suitable for both high-gain distortion and clean tones.

One of the defining features of the Ibanez RG550 is the legendary Super Wizard neck. It is constructed from five pieces of Maple and Walnut, providing exceptional stability and enhanced resonance transfer.

The Super Wizard profile is famous for its ultra-thin and flat design. With a thickness of only 17 mm at the first fret and 19 mm at the twelfth fret, it remains one of the fastest guitar necks available, ideal for technical playing, rapid solos, and advanced lead techniques.

The fretboard is made from Maple, which produces bright, crisp highs and strong upper midrange frequencies. The fretboard is decorated with Black Dot inlays, ensuring clear visual navigation during performance.

The guitar features 24 jumbo frets, giving players a full two-octave range and allowing smooth bends, expressive vibrato, and excellent articulation even during fast passages.

A major highlight of this instrument is the legendary Ibanez Edge Tremolo Bridge. This tremolo system is considered one of the finest ever produced, offering exceptional tuning stability, precise intonation adjustment, and excellent playing comfort even during aggressive tremolo use.

A locking nut further enhances tuning stability, keeping the strings securely in place during extreme whammy bar techniques.

The guitar features a versatile H-S-H pickup configuration.

In the neck position there is a V7 (H) ceramic pickup, the middle position features an S1 (S) Alnico pickup, and the bridge position is equipped with a V8 (H) Alnico pickup.

The V7 / S1 / V8 combination allows the RG550 to deliver a huge range of tones — from crystal-clear clean sounds to aggressive, powerful high-gain distortion. This versatility makes the guitar suitable for rock, hard rock, metal, fusion, and instrumental shred music.

The guitar comes equipped with D’Addario® EXL120 strings in .009 – .042 gauge and standard E-A-D-G-B-E factory tuning, making it ready to play right out of the box.

High-quality Gotoh® machine heads ensure precise tuning accuracy, smooth operation, and excellent reliability.

The vibrant Electric Blue high-gloss finish gives the guitar a striking stage presence and highlights the bold aesthetic of the RG series.
