The Papa Het’s Hardwired Master Cores signature strings were developed in close collaboration with James Hetfield over nearly a decade. During that time, engineers at Ernie Ball worked alongside the Metallica guitarist to refine the design and meet the demanding requirements of his playing style.

The set features Hetfield’s preferred 11–50 gauge combination, designed to deliver powerful attack and a heavier overall tone. These strings use a thicker Paradigm core wire wrapped with nickel-plated steel, while the proprietary Everlast nanotreatment helps protect against corrosion and extends string life.

This design suits Hetfield’s aggressive picking style, providing a strong, heavy tone with improved pitch stability even during intense performances.

The plain strings use Paradigm core wire and include brass reinforcement at the ball end, adding extra strength and improving tuning stability.
