The Thumb BO stands as one of the most distinctive designs in Warwick's engineering portfolio. Known worldwide for its explosive attack, mid-range punch, and tight overall response, the Thumb BO is purpose-built to navigate dense musical arrangements with absolute clarity.

Its curved Ovangkol body is shaped to fit natural body contours. Paired with a deep-set bolt-on Ovangkol neck and a Wenge fingerboard, the bass produces an immediate, highly defined low-frequency baseline with trademark harmonic bite.

Electronics are driven by active MEC J/J pickups linked to an active MEC 2-band onboard EQ system. Built in Germany under the Teambuilt Pro Series banner, each instrument undergoes rigorous oversight by senior master luthiers.

Engineering Innovations & Specs

• Extra-Hard Bronze Frets & IFT: Equipped with 24 extra-hard bronze Jumbo frets set using Invisible Fretwork Technology (IFT), stopping fret channels 2 mm short of the fingerboard edge to preserve structural rigidity and prevent sharp edges.

• Just-A-Nut III Tedur: Precision-molded 45 mm nut allowing micro-adjustment of string height at the first fret with 1/100 mm accuracy.

• Internal Neck Reinforcement: Embedded steel rods around the 12th fret neutralize heavy string tension on 5-string setups, eliminating fret buzz and warping.

• Illuminated Side Dots: Fluorescent markers provide instant visual reference on dark stages.

• Warwick 2-Piece 3D Bridge: Solid metal bridge construction maximizing mechanical vibration transfer, supporting independent 3D adjustments for action, intonation, string spacing, and tilt.
