Roger Sadowsky's primary goal has always been to refine an already successful bass guitar design through meticulous engineering and thoughtful enhancements. Thanks to electronics designed personally by Roger, he managed to elevate the recognizable Jazz Bass tone to an entirely new level, creating what we know today as the "Sadowsky Sound": free of irritating harshness and piercing highs, featuring a powerful yet tight low-end, an articulate yet non-aggressive midrange, and "sweet," airy highs.

All the advantages of this signature modern bass tone in a 5-string configuration are now even more accessible with the Vintage J/J model from the MetroExpress series. Crafted at the Warwick facility in China according to strict specifications developed by Roger Sadowsky, these instruments are an exceptional choice for musicians seeking a lightweight stage instrument with a modern voicing and a stunning finish.

On board the MetroExpress, you will find proprietary passive Sadowsky J/J pickups paired with an original active 2-band Sadowsky preamp for flexible tonal shaping. Thanks to the exotic African okoume body, the weight of the instrument is kept comfortably low at just 3.8 kg without sacrificing resonance or low-end fullness. Combined with signature Sadowsky ergonomics, it guarantees supreme playability.
