PRS has officially released the new McCarty 594, and the guitar has already arrived at our store. This model delivers the perfect blend of vintage character and modern performance, making it an ideal choice for players who need rich tone, flawless tuning stability, and exceptional versatility.
At the center of the McCarty 594’s voice are the newly engineered McCarty III pickups. Designed by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS New Products Engineering team, these pickups combine hands-on vintage research with modern signal-analyzing technology. They offer expressive clarity, warm depth, and the ability to move seamlessly between full humbucking tones and articulate single-coil voices using the dual volume and push/pull tone controls.
The guitar’s tonal strength is supported by thoughtful construction details:
- a slightly thicker back for increased sustain,
- a bound Pattern Vintage neck,
- a bone nut,
- a zinc two-piece bridge with brass saddles and steel studs,
- and PRS Phase III tuners with brass shafts.
The McCarty 594 continues the legacy of the collaboration between Paul Reed Smith and the legendary Ted McCarty, blending decades of knowledge into a refined, expressive instrument that feels instantly familiar and plays beautifully across the entire neck.
