The Ibanez AZ2204N Prestige in the stunning Ivy Green Metallic Flat finish has officially arrived in our store. This guitar represents the renowned Japanese Prestige series, a line of instruments built with exceptional craftsmanship, premium materials, and meticulous attention to detail.
From the moment you pick up the Ibanez AZ2204N, it becomes clear that this guitar was designed for professional musicians who demand versatility, reliability, and outstanding tone both on stage and in the studio.
The guitar features an alder body, a classic tonewood known for its balanced tonal response. Alder provides clear highs, strong midrange presence, and a controlled low end, making it suitable for a wide variety of musical styles.
The neck is crafted from S-TECH WOOD roasted maple and shaped in the comfortable AZ Oval C profile. The special roasting treatment increases the wood’s stability, durability, and resistance to moisture and temperature changes. The oil-finished neck surface gives it the smooth feel of a perfectly broken-in instrument.
The fretboard is made of rosewood and features elegant Mother of Pearl dot inlays. Rosewood is prized for its warm tonal response and balanced midrange.
One of the most innovative features is the compound fretboard radius, ranging from 228 mm at the nut to 305 mm at the 22nd fret. This design provides excellent comfort for chord playing near the nut while allowing effortless bends and lead playing higher up the neck.
The guitar is equipped with 22 jumbo stainless steel frets, which offer excellent durability, smooth bending, and precise intonation. The Prestige Fret Edge Treatment ensures perfectly rounded fret edges for maximum playing comfort.
For electronics, the guitar uses Seymour Duncan® Fortuna™ pickups in an S-S-H configuration. These pickups provide moderate output and a natural clean tone that accurately reflects subtle playing nuances while maintaining excellent tonal balance from bass to treble.
The dyna-MIX9 switching system with Alter Switch provides nine different tonal variations. With a simple flick of the mini switch, players can access humbucker and single-coil configurations as well as additional pickup combinations. One of the modes even simulates a humbucker sound using two single-coil pickups.
The Gotoh® T1702B tremolo bridge delivers excellent articulation and quick response. Its brass tremolo block and saddles enhance resonance and sustain, while the 10.5 mm string spacing allows comfortable picking across the strings.
Ergonomics were carefully considered in the AZ design. The body features a deep waist cut, a large forearm contour, and a comfortable rear body contour, allowing the instrument to fit naturally against the player’s body whether standing or sitting.
Tuning stability is ensured by Gotoh® Magnum Lock machine heads with the H.A.P. (Height Adjustable Post) system, allowing optimal string tension adjustment.
Another stage-friendly feature is Luminlay side dot inlays, which glow in low-light environments and help players easily navigate the fretboard on dark stages.
The Super All Access Neck Joint design allows effortless access to the upper frets, greatly enhancing playability.
Each guitar also includes a premium hardshell case, providing safe transport and protection.
