The Hughes & Kettner TM 36 TubeMeister is a three-channel all-tube amplifier designed for players who demand maximum flexibility, professional tone shaping, and full MIDI integration. It combines classic tube design with modern control features, making it a powerful tool for stage, studio, and home use.
Unlike conventional tube heads, the TM 36 integrates MIDI control for channel switching, FX loop activation, and built-in reverb. Its standout feature is the multi-stage power soak system, allowing operation at 36W, 18W, 5W, 1W, and Speaker Off modes. This makes it equally effective in large live environments, rehearsal spaces, and silent recording setups.
The power scaling system also enables creative tonal switching. Players can run the Clean channel at full 36W for maximum headroom, switch to Crunch at 5W for saturated rhythm tones, or engage Lead at 18W for focused high-gain riffs before jumping back to full output for solos.
The tonal architecture covers three distinct voices:
— Clean delivers warm tube clarity with wide dynamic response and smooth breakup
— Crunch provides rich harmonic overdrive and creamy lead textures
— Lead produces modern high-gain tones with tight attack and long sustain
The built-in RED BOX sends a fully balanced signal with 4x12 cabinet emulation directly to mixing desks or recording interfaces, eliminating the need for microphones and enabling professional direct recording and in-ear monitoring setups.
The TSC (Tube Safety Control) system continuously monitors and adjusts tube biasing, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and extended tube life. This makes the TM 36 not only versatile but also road-ready and dependable.
