Tommy Thayer – BIO
Tommy Thayer, lead guitarist of the legendary band KISS, has built a remarkable musical career. Born on November 7, 1960, in Portland, Oregon, he grew up surrounded by the sounds of The Beatles and classic ‘60s pop music.
Inspired by early ‘70s hard rock, he picked up the electric guitar at the age of 13. After high school, he played in various local bands before forming Black 'N Blue.
A move to Southern California in 1983 changed everything — the band quickly gained success and signed with Geffen Records. Touring, recording, and global exposure soon followed.
During a 1985 tour with KISS, he connected with Gene Simmons, leading to long-term collaboration and eventually becoming a core member of the band.
