The ESP USA Pyrograph Series Great Wave offers a beautifully intricate design burned into the guitar’s top surface by renowned fine artist Dino Muradian. With detailed hand-created pyrography art based on the iconic The Great Wave off Kanagawa woodblock print by Hokusai, only 10 of these guitars will be available worldwide. Crafted at our ESP USA facility in Southern California, the M-II Hardtail Great Wave offers a mahogany body with flamed maple top and bolt-on construction, featuring an extra-thin U-shaped quarter-sawn three-piece maple neck with natural satin finish for the smoothest and fastest playing experience. Other features of this masterfully-built guitar include an ebony fingerboard with abalone dot inlays, and 24 extra-jumbo Jescar stainless steel frets, as well as top-tier components like a Hipshot hardtail fixed bridge, a bone nut, Sperzel Trim-Lok tuners, Dunlop strap locks, and a set of high-quality Seymour Duncan Sentient (neck) and Pegasus (bridge) pickups with a push-pull coil split control.
Using magnifying lenses and custom pyrography tools, Dino Muradian painstakingly creates each of the pieces of musical instrument art with an unprecedented level of depth, dimension, texture, and expression in each piece. The artwork is situated on both the body and the headstock of the guitar, taking advantage of each instrument's unique dimensions to produce artwork that perfectly complements its shape. The M-II Hardtail Great Wave offers the world-recognized Japanese artwork with an incredible degree of detail adding the feel of dynamic motion in the art itself.
