2000 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Elegant Peacock Quilt Top

Beautiful highly quilted maple top 2000 Les Paul Elegant with Original Case both in excellent to near mint condition - there is one small ding on the front that blends well into the finish and a tiny tear on the top of the case but otherwise they are both in amazing condition given there near 20 years of life on the guitar planet of the universe.

These models did not come with COA but this one has the warrantee as well as the truss rod wrench

The previous owner decide to upgrade the pickups--the originals are not available to  the paired Seymore Duncan Zebra T-Tops which are fabulous pickups and after years of playing the 57 Classics that came stock he switched and never looked back.  I have 57s in a lot of my guitars and like them a lot but these SDs are less generically good and specifically excellent for blues especially but hard rock as well - this is a subtle distinction because they are both great pickups.  The SDs are just a little bit less well behaved.

I prefer the headstock on this Elegant vs. the late 90s because I never liked that big logo on the front--this one is just beautiful without trying to be - these still had the long tenon necks i believe as well.

The chambering is also unique to this/these Elegants from 2000--in 2003ish the guitars were fully chambered and very light and the early 90s were bottom side chambered with the butt solid but these are bottom side chambered with the butt chambered as well leaving everything from the bridge pick up to the to top/neck pick-up area solid creating a very lovely sound slightly different than those before or after and while weight relieved it sustains for days and is about 8 pounds so it's no feather.
Neck is straight--truss rod working with lots of room on it (no relief required) frets and ebony board are perfect - abalone inlays perfect -recently set up for my preferences with no buzzing or dead frets and all in all it's easily a 9 out of 10.
