Spector Introduces the Doug Wimbish Euro 4 Aged White Signature Bass — Vintage Style Meets Modern Performance

The company Spector Bass, working in collaboration with legendary bassist Doug Wimbish, has officially introduced the Doug Wimbish Euro 4 Aged White Signature Bass. This new instrument expands the Doug Wimbish Euro series and joins the brand’s lineup for 2026.

The new signature bass guitar is now available worldwide through authorized Spector dealers as well as online retailers. The model continues Spector’s creative exploration of lightly aged instruments inspired by the personal bass collection of Doug Wimbish.

The design takes inspiration from one of the musician’s lesser-known vintage instruments — his white NS-2 bass. At the same time, the instrument has been crafted to deliver the familiar feel of a well-played bass that immediately feels comfortable right out of the case for modern musicians.

Vintage Aesthetic and Comfortable Playability

The new Doug Wimbish Euro 4 Aged White Signature Bass features a lightly aged white nitrocellulose finish, known as Aged White, which gives the instrument the look of a bass that has already spent years on stage and in the studio.

The body construction includes maple body wings, providing both structural strength and a balanced tonal character.

The instrument is paired with Spector’s slim Doug Wimbish neck carve, offering a sleek and comfortable playing profile.

Playability is further enhanced by the narrow 1.5-inch nut width and the traditional 34-inch scale length, creating a fast and responsive playing experience for bassists.

The rosewood fingerboard is decorated with elegant mother-of-pearl crown inlays, completing the classic visual style associated with Spector bass guitars.

Electronics and Sound

The electronics configuration of the DW Euro 4 Aged White Signature Bass stands out as a distinctive setup within the Euro series.

The instrument is equipped with EMG Jazz pickups, which provide a responsive and articulate tonal foundation with clear note definition.

These pickups are combined with the Spector Legacy onboard preamp, developed in partnership with Darkglass Electronics.

The system is designed around a classic two-band EQ inspired by 1980s bass electronics, delivering a versatile tonal palette suitable for a wide range of musical styles.

Premium Hardware and Design Details

Additional features include gold Spector hardware, which beautifully complements the aged white finish and enhances the instrument’s premium visual presentation.

Together with its distinctive electronics configuration and historically inspired design, the Doug Wimbish Euro 4 Aged White Signature Bass represents an important piece of Doug Wimbish’s musical legacy, reimagined for modern bass players.

Doug Wimbish on the New Instrument

Reflecting on the new model, Doug Wimbish shared his thoughts:

“This bass is a piece of my history. The original 1987 Spector that helped shape my sound is now ready to inspire the next generation.”
