PRS Brings an Anime Guitar to Life with the Limited-Edition SE Rock Lady Model

PRS Guitars has partnered with Sentai, a division of AMC Global Media, and streaming platform HIDIVE to give anime fans the opportunity to own a real-world version of the pink guitar featured in the popular series Rock Is A Lady’s Modesty.
The new instrument, called the 2026 SE Rock Lady Limited Edition, will be produced in an extremely limited run of only 690 units worldwide. The model draws inspiration from both the PRS SE Paul’s Guitar and the artist-focused Custom 24-08 Limited Edition developed with KANAMI of the Japanese rock band BAND-MAID.
The guitar is designed to replicate the instrument used by the anime’s central character, Lilisa Suzunomiya, also known as Lily.
From Manga Pages to a Real Instrument
Rock Is A Lady’s Modesty first appeared as a manga series created by writer and illustrator Hiroshi Fukuda before becoming a successful anime adaptation.
The anime’s opening song, Ready to Rock, was written by KANAMI and performed by BAND-MAID. In addition to creating the music, KANAMI and her bandmates also contributed motion-capture performances for the animated concert scenes, helping make the musical sequences particularly realistic and energetic.
Designed to Match the Anime Guitar
According to PRS Guitars, the instrument was created to mirror the animated guitar as closely as possible.
Visual highlights include:
- a Pink Pearl top finish;
- a black headstock face;
- a natural-finish back;
- purple-colored pickup bobbins.
One important distinction is the addition of the famous PRS bird inlays, a signature feature found on many of the company’s most recognizable instruments.
A lily flower illustration on the truss-rod cover serves as a tribute to the series and its main character.
Electronics and Tonal Flexibility
The guitar comes equipped with TCI “S” Treble and TCI “S” Bass pickups.
The control layout includes:
- a three-way pickup selector switch;
- two independent mini-toggle switches.
These switches allow each pickup to be coil-tapped separately, giving players access to eight different pickup configurations and a wide variety of tones.
Bridge and Construction Features
The instrument uses a PRS Stoptail bridge.
According to the company, the bridge design helps maximize string contact and contributes to strong resonance, sustain, and overall tonal response.
PRS on the Project
Jack Higginbotham, Chief Operating Officer of PRS Guitars, described the collaboration as one of the company’s most creative and unconventional projects in recent years.
He explained that developing an instrument based on a fictional performer is not something PRS typically does. However, he emphasized that the result is far more than a display piece, describing it as a genuine performance instrument built for musicians who intend to play it regularly.
KANAMI Shares Her Thoughts
KANAMI explained that when she composed Ready to Rock, her goal was to capture the feeling of stepping onto a stage and expressing everything through music.
She said it is exciting to see that spirit translated into a real PRS instrument inspired by Lily’s guitar, and she hopes both players and anime fans will experience the energy of Rock Is A Lady’s Modesty through the new model.
Availability
The 2026 SE Rock Lady Limited Edition is now available through major PRS Guitars dealers across North America, Japan, and selected international markets. With only 690 instruments being produced, the model is expected to attract interest from both musicians and anime collectors alike.
