The Spector Doug Wimbish Euro 4 Signature Model is a meticulously crafted recreation of Doug Wimbish’s legendary 1987 NS-2 bass, developed in close collaboration with the artist himself.
Following the release of the USA Signature Series, Spector introduced this refined Euro version in 2024, bringing Doug’s iconic instrument to a wider audience while preserving its authentic tone, feel, and character. Every detail — from the neck carve to pickup placement — has been carefully replicated.
A defining feature is the ultra-slim neck profile with a narrow 1.5" nut width, delivering exceptional speed and comfort. The classic neck-thru construction ensures outstanding sustain and the signature Spector midrange punch.
The bass features a maple body with a USA figured maple top, paired with a rosewood fingerboard and signature mother of pearl Crown inlays. Premium gold hardware completes the instrument’s refined aesthetic.
Custom EMG DW P/J pickups, voiced to match Doug’s original 1987 EMGs, provide the unmistakable vintage tone. Combined with the Spector Legacy preamp (developed with Darkglass), the bass delivers the iconic “Spector growl” with modern versatility.
For maximum authenticity, the instrument comes factory-equipped with Rotosound Swing Bass 66 strings, Doug’s long-time choice.
A limited aged nitrocellulose finish version ! Carefully hand-aged to replicate the wear of Doug’s original NS-2.
