● OB1 — The Bi-Amp Concept in a Single Head
The Orange OB1 series is built around a long-standing bass engineering concept: blending a clean low-end signal with harmonically rich upper-frequency drive. Instead of running two separate amplifiers, OB1 integrates both paths into a single unified system.
The OB1-300 is the 300-watt version of the OB1-500, offering identical features and the same rack-mountable 2U format.
● Signature Blend Circuit — Harmonic Control and Drive
At the heart of the OB1 is the Blend circuit, which splits the signal into two distinct paths:
- a clean low-frequency channel preserving full bass integrity
- a harmonic overdrive path affecting only upper frequencies
The Blend control allows seamless mixing between the two, enabling:
- subtle enhancement for mix presence
- mid-level grit and punch
- full aggressive harmonic distortion
Despite extreme settings, the low-end remains tight, clear, and defined.
● Professional 3-Band Active EQ
Post Gain and Blend, the signal is shaped by a high-quality active EQ section:
- Bass: ±15 dB
- Middle: ±15 dB
- Treble: ±20 dB
This layout provides precise tonal shaping with low noise performance and full dynamic control.
