Thanks to a close collaboration with Celestion, Blackstar created something truly unique: the Celestion G12Z-70 Zephyr, a speaker engineered specifically for the St. James range.
Like a Formula 1 chassis, every unnecessary gram was removed, but the speaker retains its traditional Ferrite magnet, delivering the punch, dynamic response and authority expected from a premium 12" driver — at a surprisingly reduced weight.

The cabinet is made from candlenut plywood, chosen for its ideal balance of strength, light weight and acoustic enhancement. This wood enriches midrange response and resonance, giving the cabinet a lively, musical voice while keeping it road-ready for years.
