At NAMM 2026, Orange introduced its latest UK-built all-tube amplifier head — the OR60. Inspired deeply by vintage tones, this model blends classic character with modern functionality, offering players a powerful and flexible tonal platform.
At first glance, its design may seem straightforward, but the OR60 delivers far more than expected. This 60-watt single-channel amp is engineered to produce a focused, harmonically rich valve tone with a contemporary edge.
Core tone and design
The amp is powered by a pair of 6L6 tubes, providing substantial headroom and depth. This setup particularly shines when paired with boost pedals, allowing players to push the front end while maintaining clarity and definition.
Volume control without compromise
One of the standout features is a second, footswitchable volume control. This allows seamless transitions between rhythm and lead tones without adjusting the gain, ensuring the core sound remains intact while dynamics shift naturally.
Additionally, the switchable output between 460V and 335V (60W/30W) enables the amp to retain its punch even at lower volume levels.
Tone shaping capabilities
The OR60 includes dedicated Presence and Resonance controls. Presence adjusts the high-frequency response, enhancing clarity and articulation, while Resonance shapes the low-end feel and overall depth of the amp.
A three-position Bright switch adds further flexibility, letting players fine-tune the top-end response without affecting the gain structure — particularly useful for humbucker-equipped or darker-sounding guitars.
Simplicity as a strength
Despite its tonal flexibility, the OR60 maintains a clean and straightforward layout. According to Orange, this simplicity is a key advantage: delivering a direct, high-voltage voice of a finely crafted single-channel amp.
