First came the Godzilla Strat, and now there’s a PAC-MAN Telecaster…

Fender has joined forces with Bandai Namco to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the legendary arcade phenomenon, PAC-MAN.

Palace Skateboards. Supreme. Jameson Whiskey. Godzilla. Predicting Fender’s next collaboration has never been easy, and this latest release is certainly one few people saw coming.

The iconic guitar company has officially announced a brand-new partnership with Bandai Namco, unveiling the Limited Edition PAC-MAN Player II Telecaster. The launch marks two major milestones at once: the 75th anniversary of the Telecaster and the 45th anniversary of PAC-MAN.

The guitar’s most striking feature is the instantly recognizable PAC-MAN maze splashed across the front of the Player II Telecaster. Fans of the classic arcade title will immediately recognize the familiar tension of being chased by Blinky, Inky, Pinky, and Clyde — all of whom appear as part of the instrument’s eye-catching retro artwork. A dedicated Fender x PAC-MAN logo is also featured on the back of the guitar.

Specification-wise, the Limited Edition PAC-MAN Player II Telecaster comes equipped with an alder body, a Modern C neck profile, and a 9.5-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard featuring 22 frets and rolled edges for enhanced comfort. Sound is delivered through a pair of Alnico V Tele single-coil pickups, while ClassicGear tuners and a six-saddle string-through-body Tele bridge provide dependable tuning stability and classic feel.

Controls include a three-way blade selector switch along with dedicated volume and tone knobs.

“Working together with Bandai Namco goes beyond a standard collaboration — it’s the meeting of two cultural icons that have influenced generations,” says Justin Norvell, Chief Product Officer at Fender.

“Both Fender and PAC-MAN share something incredibly rare: the ability to create emotional connections with people decade after decade. This new release celebrates that legacy through the craftsmanship and attention to detail Fender is known for, combined with the unmistakable imagery of one of gaming’s most legendary titles. It’s a natural union between two icons that continue to inspire fans and creators around the world.”

Susan Tran, Senior Director of Brand Development for PAC-MAN at Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., also shared her thoughts on the collaboration:

“As we celebrate these milestone anniversaries, the PAC-MAN collaboration with Fender perfectly captures the legacy of two globally recognized brands that have created unforgettable memories across generations. Holding the PAC-MAN Player II Telecaster simply feels right — as though these timeless brands were always meant to come together in a design that sparks nostalgia, feels instantly familiar, and inspires creativity the moment you pick it up.”

Alongside the PAC-MAN Telecaster, the companies have also introduced a Japan-exclusive clothing collection under Fender’s F IS FOR FENDER label. Available through Fender’s flagship Tokyo store and the F IS FOR FENDER website, the collection features three retro-inspired premium cotton T-shirts in multiple colorways, as well as two baseball caps infused with nostalgic arcade aesthetics.
