April 10, 2026, 9:15 a.m.
If you happen to have £300,000 to spare, now might be your chance to own an iconic piece of rock history. A legendary guitar used by Slash of Guns N’ Roses is set to headline one of the most exciting music memorabilia auctions of the year.

🔹 Propstore auction brings music legends together
The UK-based auction house Propstore will host its Music Live Auction on April 30, with global bidding available. 🌍
The event will feature over 400 lots spanning generations of music icons — from Guns N’ Roses, Queen, and The Beatles to modern stars like Ed Sheeran.
The total estimated value of the sale reaches £1.5 million (around $2 million).
🔸 Star lot: Slash’s Gibson Les Paul from reunion tour
The centerpiece of the auction is a Gibson Les Paul ‘59 Custom Shop guitar used by Slash, valued between £150,000 and £300,000 ($198,000–$396,000). 💰
This is far from a display-only instrument — it was heavily used during the Not In This Lifetime reunion tour, marking Slash’s full return to Guns N’ Roses after his departure following the 1993 Use Your Illusion era.
🔹 A guitar that toured the world
The reunion tour spanned 175 shows worldwide — from Coachella to major stadiums — and became one of the highest-grossing tours ever, generating over $584 million.
Throughout the entire run, Slash consistently performed with this very Gibson Les Paul, whose flame maple top has been photo-matched to live performance images included with the lot. 📸

🔸 Unique features and custom details
Built by the Gibson Custom Shop, this Les Paul ‘59 comes in an Abilene Sunset Burst finish.
Its specifications include:
- mahogany body and neck
- nickel hardware
- personal modifications by Slash
Notably, it features cloth-taped access panels and his signature double-sided tape pick holder on the headstock. 🎸
🔹 Stage wear and signature authenticity
The guitar carries Slash’s autograph and shows authentic signs of use:
light dents and surface scratches near the bridge caused by contact with the guitarist’s jewelry during performances.
As Slash himself has said, the weight, neck feel, and humbucker tone make the Les Paul his ultimate all-around guitar.
🔸 Other rare highlights in the auction
Collectors will also find several extraordinary items:
- 🎸 a Gibson Les Paul Custom 20th Anniversary used by Noel Gallagher during the recording of Standing on the Shoulder of Giants and Heathen Chemistry (£10,000–£20,000)
- 🖼 a Double Fantasy promotional poster signed by John Lennon and Yoko Ono on December 8, 1980 — just hours before Lennon’s death (£60,000–£120,000)
- 📝 handwritten draft lyrics for Goodbye by Paul McCartney (£55,000–£110,000)
- 🎼 signed lyrics from Jimi Hendrix, Noel Redding, and Mitch Mitchell (£35,000–£70,000)
🔹 Public exhibition before the auction
Ahead of the sale, a public exhibition will take place from April 22 to 25 at The Cumberland Hotel in London.
Fans and collectors will have the opportunity to view these legendary items up close. 🎶
