PRS Private Stock PS #7777 "The Lucky Man Guitar" Santana II
The most expensive guitar that has ever appeared in our store!
Why does it cost this much — and does it really sound like it?
The answer is simple: it sounds like a great PRS Santana, but looks like a Private Stock Dragon.
However, there’s one thing that makes it truly priceless — you will never own another Private Stock number 7777.
There was only one ever made.
Maybe someday PRS will reach #77777, but this exact guitar — with this story and design — is absolutely unique.
So… who will be the lucky one to hit the jackpot?
The Story
Back in 2016, U.S. PRS dealer Guitar Maverick teamed up with the PRS Private Stock Team to design and build this extraordinary instrument — the #7777 Private Stock, a project that took two years to complete.
This guitar also has a personal connection to the PRS Forum community.
Years ago, Paul Reed Smith sent signed PRS playing cards to early forum members who helped support this wonderful PRS community.
The dealer received the 7 of Diamonds, signed by Paul himself.
In fact, the 7 of Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts, and Spades represented the Santana model — and that’s how the idea of building the #7777 guitar was born.
Carlos Santana has spent a lot of time performing in Las Vegas, and that inspired the Lucky Man theme behind this masterpiece.
Design Concept
-
The model and color are based on Carlos Santana’s iconic guitar.
-
On the headstock — a Private Stock eagle, Paul’s classic signature design.
-
On the fretboard — the four Aces, symbolizing a winning hand.
-
Then come the tumbling dice, with a 5 + 2 combination = 7.
-
A slice of a roulette wheel, with the ball landing on number 7.
-
Finally, on the heel — a one-armed bandit showing the legendary 7777 combination.
This is a truly special guitar, and the Private Stock team made sure it turned out spectacular.
Every single piece of wood was personally hand-selected!
About PRS Private Stock
Private Stock represents the absolute pinnacle of guitar craftsmanship.
These instruments are built entirely by hand, outside the regular production line, by PRS’s most skilled luthiers.
Every detail — from the wood selection to the final polish — is done with precision and love.
The woods come from the exclusive PRS Vault; the components, soldering, and setup are all perfected to the highest standard.
In 2018, I purchased this guitar from an authorized dealer in the U.S. and brought it to a collector in Ukraine. It has never been played — still as new as the day it left the shop. Today, you have the chance to be that Lucky Man!
